BENEVOLIST.ORG PARTNERS WITH 6 LOCAL NONPROFITS DURING APRIL TO HELP ALLEVIATE HOMELESSNESS

Raleigh, N.C., DATE /24-7PressRelease/ – Benevolist.org, in collaboration with a group from the Assisting People in Planning Learning Experience in Service program at UNC-Chapel Hill, today is announcing a partnership with six local nonprofits to help the overarching mission to reduce homelessness in the Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill area, otherwise known as the Triangle.

“Benevolist.org is so pleased to be a part of the journey with this talented group of students from the UNC Chapel Hill School of Journalism and Media. We’re proud to be working with them on their Service-Learning Partnership project, that’s focusing on collecting much needed items for the local housing-insecure community. Working together to help to bring attention to this important cause demonstrates the power of collaboration and compassion and allows the students to gain real-world experience.” said Cari Newton, the Founder and President of Benevolist.org, when asked about the upcoming campaign.

Homelessness is a major issue in the Triangle. According to Raleigh Rescue Mission, Wake County has experienced an 8% increase in homelessness every year. Fortunately, many organizations throughout the region provide shelter, food, clothing, and even homes for the homeless.

Throughout the month of April, nonprofits are using Benevolist.org to collect item donations. These items will aid and support people living without stable housing in our community. Visit Benevolist.org and click on “Find a Drive” then under “Causes” click on “Homelessness” and “Search” to view all the participating drives and make a donation.
